MK Art Clubs & Kids Parties

MK Art Clubs aims to inspire children to explore their creativity through a range of guided and independent art and craft activities. Families can try our free weekend art clubs, where children take part in free creative sessions.  For a deeper creative experience, we offer 5-week courses tailored to age groups: 3–6, 7–11, and 12–16 years. These courses help kids and young creatives to develop new skills, build confidence and express themselves through art. We can also deliver exciting workshops in schools, colleges and universities. You can even book us for kids parties or any other type of event.

At MK Art Clubs, drawing is just the beginning. In addition to that, we aim to use art as a tool to help children to build confidence in a supportive environment. Our workshops encourage collaboration, communication, and problem-solving, helping children develop valuable social and critical thinking skills along the way.

Join our Art Clubs Mailing List to be the first to know about new workshop dates. That way, you’ll never miss a chance to secure your spot!

How long are the workshops if I book you for a school day?

  • You can book Michael for a number of hours or you can book him for the full school day.

  • Michael is able to provide more than one type of workshop on the same day but this would have to be agreed beforehand to ensure he has all the equipment he needs for the session.

How long are the workshops if I book you for an event?

  • The length of the workshop can be tailored to fit the available time. Some workshops can be done in 45 minutes while others need at least 2 hours to complete at a reasonable pace.

  • Michael will make workshop recommendations based on the time that is available and the type of event.

How far can you travel?

  • Anywhere in the world subject to availability.

Is there a limit on the number of participants at events or in schools?

  • Not but there is a recommended number to ensure a high-quality experience for everyone involved. Michael prefers to work with no more than 15 participants per tutor or support staff, so he can offer individual attention and guidance throughout the session. For larger groups, especially with younger children, additional support from parents or teachers may be required to help manage the session effectively.

Does my child need to bring anything to the workshops?

  • All they need to bring is a creative spirit and a respectful attitude towards other children, Michael and other staff. Michael will provide everything else they need for the workshop. There are some workshops that may require the parent to bring something and Michael will let parents know in advance when this is the case.

Can I bring more than one of my children to the Art Club?

  • Yes, you can bring multiple children, but each child must attend the club for their specific age group. Michael designs the workshops so that they are suitable and engaging for specific age groups to ensure that children get the most out of the art and crafts activities.

Bio:

Michael was born in Uganda and moved to the UK with his family at the age of 11. His passion for drawing was clear from an early age, often expressed through doodles on any surface within reach, whether it was paper and books or walls and tables.

He attended Marriotts High School in Stevenage before following his passion for art at Coventry University, where he studied illustration and animation. After graduating in 2013, he was eager to kickstart his career in illustration.

A friend’s recommendation led him to a role as a caricaturist at the iconic London Eye, marking the beginning of his journey as a professional artist.

In 2015, Michael founded MKcaricatures to specialise in live drawing at events such as weddings, corporate functions, and parties. As his business grew, he expanded his services to include his now award-winning caricature wedding stationery, commercial illustration and personalised gifts.

Alongside his caricature work, Michael gained two years of tutoring experience, first on the Art Foundation course at North Herts College and later at Coventry University, where he taught illustration and animation. This experience inspired him to develop his own creative workshops for schools, events and businesses.

Michael now draws at over 150 live events annually and creates thousands of caricatures from photos for wedding place cards and seating plans, personalised gifts and commercial illustration. Michael also runs on demand creative team-building workshops for companies big and small. His impressive client list includes major brands like Microsoft, Mercedes, Samsung, Adobe, John Lewis, Fulham Football Club, Oxford University and many more.

In 2025, Michael launched MK Art Clubs in partnership with Moore Place Hotel in Milton Keynes, with the aim of delivering creative workshops for children aged 3 to 16.
