Free Trial: Animation (7 - 11yr olds)

Service Description

Session 1: Character & Set Creation In the first session, children will dive into the creative process by crafting their own unique characters and objects for the animation. Michael will guide them through different techniques to help make the characters and object ready for animation. The group will then work together as a team to decorate a small set, which will serve as the backdrop for the stop-motion animation. By the end of the session, the characters and environment will be fully prepared for the next step - shooting and editing the animation in Session 2. Session 2: Shooting & Editing The Animation In the second session, children will place their characters onto the set and learn the fundamentals of stop-motion animation. By making small movements and capturing each step with a camera, they’ll create individual frames that, when played in sequence, bring their animation to life. Cameras will be set up to capture multiple angles of the set, adding depth to their scenes. Using an iPad, Michael will demonstrate how to arrange photo frames into a sequence, giving children a detailed insight into the animation process.
